A Heartbeat of Heritage, Community and Growth
Heritage is at the heart of St Andrew’s College—not only in our traditions but in the very spaces where Andreans live, learn and grow. Every corner of campus reflects the contributions of generations past, creating a legacy rich in tradition, resources and community. Today, through thoughtful renewal, we have the opportunity to honour that legacy while shaping a more connected and inclusive campus for future generations.
Imagine a place that embodies the spirit of unity—a vibrant hub where memories are made, friendships flourish and the rich history of St Andrew’s College comes alive. Inspired by the ancient Roman Forum, this space is envisioned as the soul of our school: a welcoming sanctuary for gatherings, celebrations and shared moments of joy.
At the heart of this vision is the transformation of the Drill Hall into a dynamic community anchor. More than just a public space, it will become a living symbol of our identity—where the school’s heritage pulses through everyday life. Sensitive architectural interventions will integrate the Drill Hall into the rhythm of campus, creating a living museum that houses the re-curated Andrean Resource Centre collection, the armoury and the pipe room. This multi-purpose venue will also serve students, parents and performances, blending history with contemporary use.
To truly be a sanctuary for all, the open area in front of the Drill Hall will be redesigned to invite and embrace. Accessible, safe and pedestrian-friendly, it will feature lush green spaces, inviting seating, vibrant public art and gentle water features. Removed from traffic and noise, it will offer a peaceful haven for reflection, interaction and celebration—a space that fosters belonging, pride and connection.
The Cory Block will be reimagined as a centre for collaboration and growth, featuring world-class academic facilities and a central hub for staff administration. This revitalised space will enhance teaching, learning and professional development across the College.
Student life will be enriched through the thoughtful integration of familiar spaces like the beloved tuck shop and boys’ social area. By preserving what students cherish while introducing inviting modern environments, we will strengthen community and deepen the sense of belonging on campus.
